Sustainable energy
Oil can only be extracted from certain parts of the world and will eventually run dry while electricity can be produced locally in many ways. Solar power, wind & wave power stations and hydroelectric power stations is examples of renewable power sources.
Better environment
No more smog thanks to the zero emission vehicles. And even if the electricity comes from dirty coal power plants the air will be cleaner then if we continue to drive gasoline and diesel cars.
Terrorism
The sentence "Stop funding terrorism" in EV context has been a matter
of discussion. Those who believe in it, says that the sheiks
owning the oil companies fund terrorism from the profits of the oil industry.
By stopping at the gas station and buying gas, they say you found terrorism.
Therefore, by using a EV the dependence of middle-east oil is lowered and possibly
eliminated resulting in lowered funding for al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations.
